Origine du nom français : le nom provient de « poumon », rappelant les vertus pectorales qu’on lui attribuait dans l’Antiquité. Cette réputation dépasse les vertus réelles de la plante et s’appuyait sur la théorie des « marques », car l’on croyait voir dans les taches de la plante la reproduction des nodules du poumon humain malade.

Fleurs : fleurs de 1,5 cm, d’abord rouges en bouton, puis virant progressivement jusqu’au bleu calice en tube à dents aiguës.
Feuilles : feuilles tachetées de blanchâtre, celles de la base en coeur et pétiotées, les supérieures ovales et sessiles, ou engainantes ; les feuilles s’accroissent en été après la floraison.

Émolliente, adoucissante, expectorante, on utilise la pulmonaire officinale contre les affections des bronches, pour soulager la toux. On en fait des lotions ou des compresses pour faire disparaître les engelures ou les dartres. Préparez la en décoction légère pendant 2 minutes, à raison d’une cuillerée à soupe de plantes par tasse. Prenez en deux ou trois tasses par jour.

Hi! I really need some help and ideas for my creative writing assignment. We have to mimic the Canterbury Tales by Chaucer. We have to have 5 diverse characters (so far I have a brunette young woman who is a musician from NJ) and they are going on a pilgrimage to NYC. They have to be diverse based on gender, class, race, and occupation and where they are coming from. Then they have to each tell a story. I am having a lot of problems being creative with them.
